MADRID â" Â Spain's Economy Minister Luis de Guindos says a 'bad bank' being set up to allow lenders to offload bad investments will be 55 percent privately-owned.
Speaking Wednesday in Parliament, De Guindos says the stake in the bad bank would be offered to private sector companies, who might hope to turn around the bad investments and eventually make a profit.
De Guindos defended Spain's banks, saying an independent audit last week showed "70 percent of the financial sector is in condition to handle a severely stressed situation."
The audit said seven banks hardest hit by the 2008 collapse of the property market will need another â¬59.3 billion ($ 77 billion) to survive a severe downturn.
The minister says Spain will tap a "greatly inferior" amount from its â¬100 billion eurozone rescue loan.

Question by Mother Hubbard: What makes people think other cultures will "take over the world" just because ours tried it? People get out the population charts and go- "Oh no, the Chinese will rule the world" , or "Oh no, the hispanics will rule America"- what makes people think the rest of humanity has any interest in behaving that way? Can you be specific? Best answer for What makes people think other cultures will "take over the world" just because ours tried it?:

"Oh no, the Chinese will rule the world" People cite China due to their economic growth, their pragmatism and lack of concern for outside opinion, they have tidings in Africa and South America, you are not keeping up with China if you think they are self contained. "Oh no, the hispanics will rule America"- Well technically, if we are to assume America is still running on democratic principles, being part of the majority does give you power in a democracy. And hispanics make up half of all US population growth from 2000 and 2010, and 45% of that growth was due to illegal immigration (entered or birthed from). Which gives a lot of voting and cultural power in general. At the moment I don't believe hispanics are utilizing their voting potential

Some cultures. like liberalism, will be a hindrance to America, but we will rise up and overcome their onslaught of destructive policies. We did not try to take over the world. The world came here to get away from their own cultures and governments.
