CARACAS, Venezuela â" Â Just try sleeping in on election day in Venezuela.
In the hilly eastern Caracas slum of Petare, a truck began blaring reveille from loudspeakers before 3 a.m. and a male voice urged people to get up and vote. The man's voice also periodically insulted opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.
A few hours later, a man on a motorcycle, his face covered with a red bandana, parked in front of a Petare polling station and sounded his bugle while a comrade yelled "Long Live Chavez!"
President Hugo Chavez faced the tightest re-election of his political career on Sunday after nearly 14 years in power and both sides have worked mightily to get out the vote.

Question by Craig C: Wikileaks: China ready to abandon North Korea and warn they are a âthreat to the whole world"? A Wikileaks cable released tonight shows that China is ready to abandon North Korea as an ally, accept a reunification with South Korea and a Chinese official is quoted as saying âNorth Korea's nuclear activity is a threat to the whole world". Now North Korea know this, given they are a âspoiled child" and are an agressive regime what could their reaction be? Best answer for Wikileaks: China ready to abandon North Korea and warn they are a âthreat to the whole world"?:
Answer by Steve
I think thier backing down to the threat of World war..but thats good
Answer by Max Raj
This is going to make things bad to worst. Leak is going to make North Korea more aggressive and offensive as they have lost their trust of big brother China. They might attack SK anytime. 3WW is near.
Answer by Judy
I saw that to but i dont think there will be any war .
Answer by J
Wouldn't be surprised. I mean, they rather take over the US, than N.Korea.

My first reaction to this would be to suspect that wikileaks has been the victim of a hoax. There is absolutely nothing that China would gain from taking this position.

I've never considered NK to be a rational country, so I'm not really sure.' Any sane person would see that they need to make some reforms, and quick, if they want to stay in power. Otherwise, I see them toppling. What I'm willing to guess is that they'll do the unwise thing and continue their activities as is.

You never know what NK will do next. They are not easy to predict. If true, China must be feeling embarrassed, but they are right if they do decide to abandon this "soiled child."
