JERUSALEM â" Â A Tel Aviv court has ruled that a collection of manuscripts written by Franz Kafka and Max Brod must be transferred to the Israeli National Library in Jerusalem.
The ruling brings an end to a heated, protracted court case.
Tel Aviv sisters Eva Hoffe and Ruth Wiesler insisted on keeping the vast collection of rare documents, which they inherited from their mother, Esther Hoffe, Brod's secretary.
In a document sent to news media Sunday, the court ruled that the documents were not given as gifts to the sisters.
The National Library argued that Brod, Kafka's close friend, left the manuscripts to the National Library in his will. Kafka bequeathed his writings to Brod shortly before his own death from tuberculosis in 1924, instructing his friend to burn everything unread.

Question by Bruce: Do liberal Christians "conform to the pattern of this world" rather than standing firm with Jesus? In Romans 12, Paul urges Christians, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." When liberal Christians say abortion should be a "choice," homosexuality is predestined, and humans emerged as biological accidents of evolution, are they conforming to popular culture or transforming their thinking to proclaim an alternative to popular culture? Best answer for Do liberal Christians "conform to the pattern of this world" rather than standing firm with Jesus?:

There's such a thing as a liberal Christian?
Answer by Narathzul Arantheal
They do "stand firm with Jesus", they just interpret the scriptures differently than you do. You can't transform a simple difference of opinion about how the scriptures should be interpreted into an "You're either with us True Christians (TM) or against us" issue.
Answer by Jesus loves atheists too
The "Christians" that condone those things are not Christians at all. People are so caught up in trying to appear tolerant and are too frightened to take a stand that they sacrifice their souls in the name of political correctness. A shame, really.

There's just no pleasing you people.

Most Christians would probably consider me a "liberal," or at least a "radical," because my views don't conform to traditional Christianity. But neither do they conform to the beliefs o f the world. I don't let anyone, priest or politician, tell me what to think. I look at the evidence and follow where it leads. If it leads away from what religion teaches, why should I believe those teachings to be the truth?

Only a "true Christian" can believe that Jesus would be anti-gay and would preach against learning about the world.

Do conservative Christians "stand firm" with bigotry and racism? *cough* Westboro Baptist *cough* *cough*
Answer by Nick M
It seems that people who say the things that you have stated are not "walking the road less traveled." Obviously abortion is wrong, homosexual acts are wrong (not that we should judge the people) and God created us. Individually, we choose what to believe, what we do and what we support.
Answer by Festus
No. "liberal" Christians do not say that "abortion should be a choice" what we true followers of Christ say is that for women who feel they have to terminate a pregnancy a civilized society should give them a CHOICE between a medical facility rather than a butcher shop! "Judge not lest thou shall be judged." No one likes abortion -- so let's get some technology going that will make it unnecessary, instead of relegating women to social incubators! "liberal" Christians -- those that truly follow Christ's teachings -- recognize that GOd is all loving, and Jesus was all about love, and homosexuals are also God's children. Since God does not "entrap" people, it is highly unlikely that a loving GOd would condemn people to a life without love. "liberal" Christians- those that truly follow Christ -- have brains, and realize that Genesis is an allegory -- a teaching story -- like Christ taught in parables -- and NOT a science textbook! It is patently ABSURD to believe that human beings were made like mudpies. The fact that evolution deniers choose to mistranslate Genesis does not make their views correct -- it makes them delusional.

I'm pretty sure Jesus would be what people today would consider ultraliberal. Soft on crime--cf. woman caught in adultery; encouraged people to pay their taxes--render unto Caesar; liked the poor better than the rich. Yep, he's a liberal.
Answer by How would I know
Jesus isn't here today, can I stand firm with Pedro?
Answer by lainiebsky
No, actually I've noticed that liberal Christians are much more likely to be living the way Jesus taught. They're staffing soup kitchens, helping build houses for poor peopl e and collecting clothes for needy children while the fundamentalists are busy trash talking Democrats and hating gays. Did Jesus say anything about gays? No. Did he condemn abortion? No. Did he say that one must believe in a literal six day creation to be saved? No. So what on earth gave you the idea that to follow Jesus you needed to hold those beliefs? It doesn't seem that you're following Jesus at all. You're following the 20th century evangelical/political movement and ignoring the gospels.
