Libyan lawmakers voted to remove Prime Minister-elect Mahmoud Abushagur from office today after rejecting his proposed cabinet for a second time.

Abushagur, who earlier presented a “crisis cabinet” of 10 people to lead the country, was defeated in a no-confidence motion, 125-44, less than a month after he took office. He had announced his new plan after the three-month-old congress disputed the names earlier submitted amid continuing resistance from the General National Congress to the formation of his first government.

Congress must now select a new prime minister and it was unclear what the next steps would be. Lawmakers extended their session to debate it.

“I was going to form a national unity government, not based on quotas, but then there was pressure on me, people wanted ministers from their regions,” Abushagur told parliament today.

The latest rejection and protests by demonstrators who claim their regions are unrepresented in the government reflect Libya’s fragile political situation in the year since leader Muammar Qaddafi was ousted and killed in a bloody uprising. The interim government has pushed to restore order and revive the economy, efforts stymied by factionalism as militias refused to disarm and regional interests predominated.

Abushagur had earlier proposed that ministries without named heads would be grouped under the prime minister’s office and supervised directly by the deputy prime minister.

The prime minister-elect withdrew the initial slate of names on Oct. 4, the day about 100 protesters from the western city of Zawiya forced their way into the Congress building. Congress must approve Cabinet choices.

The Cabinet selection unveiled on Oct. 3 included largely unknown figures and took little account of demands made by the country’s political groups and regions. The list included three deputy premiers representing the country’s three main regions.

The prime minister-elect, who was named by the Congress last month, has been struggling to form a government amid attempts by authorities to disband the militias following an assault on the American Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11 that left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three colleagues dead. The attack, which took place during a protest against a U.S.- made anti-Islamic film, has been blamed by the U.S. on terrorists.

Question by Pika: What are the Flashbacks in "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen? I'm supposed to describe the flashbacks in the play "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen, however for the life of me I cannot find any within the play. Am I reading it wrong, or are there really none? Best answer for What are the Flashbacks in "A Doll's House" by Henrik Ibsen?:

Answer by Been There
Question back: Why would you be asked to describe flashbacks if there are none? The assignment is okay. The play is okay. You have an idea of what flashbacks are. But your definition is too narrow, and this is keeping you from actually seeing the flashbacks in the play. What is a flashback? Dictionary.reference.com says..... Flashback: a device in the narrative of a motion picture, novel, etc., by which an event or scene taking place BEFORE the PRESENT TIME in the narrative is inserted into the chronological structure of the work. i.e., flashbacks tell you what happened in the past. Re-read the play, looking for ANYTHING that might tell you what has happened in the past (before you, the audience, joined Nora).
