Question by Pluto C. Rat: Why do they call the US the "nanny state"? Is it because they have a law and rule plastered over every action its citizens take -- including on toilet doors? "Nanny state" is the feeblest euphemism for "fascism" I've ever encountered. Best answer for Why do they call the US the "nanny state"?:

The mindset is on par with the reality they are just children who don't realize the hole their in.

Because too many of the American people have come to expect the government to hold their little hands and fix their lives for them.

Though it seems you asked already with an idea, which shows you are biased in the situation But it's saying that America babies it's citizens too much, and to an extent I agree. The government shouldn't have as much power as they do over social issues like gay marriage and such, and if it does it shouldn't disallow people rights over things such as that without real reasoning

Only conservatives would call the US a "nanny state" and they are so f****ing stupid no one should listen to anything they say!

They don't. A nanny state is not fascism. You should have stayed in school.

Because the republicants need to make up names to get their constituents riled up. They are the only ones mentioning such falsehoods. z

The federal register has grown yearly, to the point it's entirely out of control. Now it's over 80,000 pages. It controls our lives literally from the womb to the tomb. They are even telling Americans how to feed their children. Not only are kids subjected to nanny-ism but the adults are as well. - Enough! It seems to me, a government which always protects us from failure is a government afraid of success.

Because too many want the government to think and act for them. They would prefer to be told what to do and be given their allowance, than act independently and prosper based on their own effort. Nannies are in charge of children therefore our politicians view us as being unable to take care of ourselves.
Zumio Hunter PvP - 2v2 [Hunter/Warrior]Facebook - www.facebook.com Watch in 1080p, makes a world of difference! My first video! Hope you enjoy it, if you do please like, comment & subscribe as I am just starting out and it makes a huge difference at this stage. You may notice certain points in this video where it lags for a split second - it doesn't happen often, and it is not a rendering issue or anything like that - I am going to buy a new hard drive (solid state) as at the moment whenever I fraps WoW the read/write speed of my HDD is capped, causing the drive to have to "catch up" every so often. It is due to the fact that I am recording videos to the same hard drive as the game and the pagefile is on - the drive cannot cope. Once I get the new hard drive the random FPS spiking will stop! This is also the first time I have ever delved into video editing and I still have a lot to learn, so forgive the poorly done song transition halfway through. Music: 1) Daft Punk - End of L ine (Bass Remix) 2) Daft Punk - Castor More videos coming soon, taking suggestions!
Chavezâs penchant for tracksuits is nothing new. Some of his more memorable athletic garb includes his all-time favorite scarlet tracksuit (a tribute to the red flag of socialism) and his tracksuit bearing the yellow, red, and blue colors of the Venezuelan flag.
ââChavez is certainly not the only leader to take the humble tracksuit for a run in the political sphere.
ââAfter decades of his signature olive-green military uniform, Cuban leader and longtime Chavez ally Fidel Castro switched over to tracksuits in 2006, the same year he transferred power to his brother, Raul Castro, due to his ailing health.Despite often being derided as the height of bad taste or even a poor fashion statement, the tracksuit may in fact be seen as a political statement.
Two years ago, blogger and editor of the Spanish daily "El Pais" Antonio (Tono) Fraguas coined the phrase âel chandalismo revolucionario,â (Spanish for âthe revolutionary tracksuitâ) to describe the fondness of certain left-wing leaders for sports apparel.
Originally posted on his blog âLa Fragua,â the Spanish journalist offered a few theories as to why the tracksuit has become the new formal attire for leaders like Chavez and Fidel Castro.
ââHis theories on âthe revolutionary tracksuitâ range from a populist explanation, which suggests that the goal is to present the leader as "just another ordinary guy," to the notion that it portrays the relevant politician in an idyllic manner as someone who is as âfit as an athlete.âFraguas concludes with the theory that leaders may have begun wearing the tracksuit because it mirrors their style of rule, i.e. âmy house (country), my rules.â
The Adidas Man
In a manner reminiscent of how top athletes wear the products of sportswear manufacturers who sponsor them, for the past six years Fidel Castro has been photographed in Adidas, Fila, Puma, and Nike tracksuits, raising questions as to why the anti-imperialist former president, whose country has been under an economic embargo for the past 50 years, wears a personalized Adidas sweatsuit with his name embroidered on it.
ââAndrew McKie wrote for "The Daily Telegraph"Â in 2008 that â...Fidel seems to favour Adidas tracksuits which appear to be made of a cloth so rich in manmade fibres that downtown Havana could probably be powered off the static electricity they generate.âChavez had better stay away from those Adidas-branded tracksuits. After all, in 2007 he was the one who told Castro to drop the tracksuit and go back to his military uniform.
