Pakistani doctors recommended Malala Yousafzai's transfer to a British facility where she can receive the prolonged care she will need to recover from the physical and psychological effects of the shooting.
The United Arab Emirates provided an air ambulance for Yousafzai's trip abroad.
Yousafzai has been internationally recognized for promoting education for girls and documenting Taliban atrocities in the area near her home in the northwestern Swat Valley. She was shot by Taliban militants on October 9. Â
On Sunday, thousands of people gathered in Pakistan's largest city, Karachi, to show their support for Yousafzai. Â
Also Sunday, Afghan President Hamid Karzai urged the political and religious leaders of Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan to mount a collaborative plan of action against terrorism and extremism.
Children across Pakistan and Afghanistan Saturday prayed for Yousafzai's recovery.
Pakistani police arrested several shooting suspects Friday in Swat Valley.
A Taliban spokesman in the Swat Valley said Friday the group's leaders decided a few months ago to kill Yousafzai, and assigned gunmen to carry it out. The Taliban had said she is "pro-West" and that she denounced the militant group and called U.S. President Barack Obama her idol.

Rarely if ever. They understand that a "separation of church and state" means a protection of freedom of religion FROM state and such a separation is ONE-DIRECTIONAL.

Personally, I think its wonderful, there's religious liberties, & or freedoms... But I do have a problem, when any organizations liberties, or freedoms... Are over riding individual liberties, & freedoms... In order to have "true freedom" of religion , it is also necessary to have the freedom of no religion... In my view, that's over reach, giving any organization, more liberties or freedom, than the individual...
